Vinicius He was selected as the best Brazilian player of 2023 for the Samba Gold awards, organized by the Sambafoot website. Vinicius succeeded in the list of winners Neymar who finished second in the poll, incl Marquinhos in third place.
This award was created in 2008 and it is the first time that Vinicius has won the award and breaks Neymar’s streak of three, who has won it six times in total.
A committee made up of experts nominated by Sambafoot chooses the nominees in three categories (male, female and under 20) and then voted by the general public through their website. In the women’s category the winner was Tamires, defender of the Corinthians, and in the U-20 category the winner was Marcos Leonardo, of Santos and that is for Real Madrid.
