The Canadian Michael Woods (Toronto, 37 years old) will continue his career two more years at Israel Premier Tech with the hope of adding victory in the Giro d’Italia to his record and thus closing the circle of victories in the big three.
With the contract ending at the end of this year, Woods intends to remain active with the team he joined in 2021and where he plans to retire when he considers he can no longer compete at the highest level.
A decision related to his friendship with the team manager, Sylvan Adams.
“I am very lucky to have Sylvan. He is one of the main reasons why I became a professional runner. He has supported me since 2013 and played an important role in my career“explained Michael Woods to the team’s networks.
Woods, winner of two stages in the Vuelta and one in the Tourand bronze at the 2018 World Cupextended its commitment to Israel until it could do its best.
“I will retire from this team when I have nothing more to offer, until I can perform at the highest level.”. I’m still excited to run. What a privilege to be able to do this. I realize how lucky I am to have this support from Sylvan and the team. One of the reasons I extended myself to the team was “I feel that I still have a lot to give” he explained.
