The Peñas Azules’ association with Real Oviedo (APARO) has asked the Oviedo club through a statement not to support Javier Tebas in the next election for the presidency of the Professional Football League (LFP). “We ask our club to support a candidacy that destroys the current model and returns football to the fans,” explained APARO a week after Javier Tebas resigned as LaLiga president to call an election and present a candidacy again.
APARO, which includes most of Real Oviedo’s supporters’ clubs, pointed out in writing: “We have the opportunity to change our football model, establish a schedule system that will bring fans closer to the stadiums, make more distribution of the television rights and find other sources of income that eliminate the complete dependence of clubs on television operators.
Match schedules continue to be the main complaint of Oviedo supporters clubs, who consider it necessary to “end the current situation so that only audiovisual interest is no longer considered and a season like the current one is not repeated, where “Throughout the first round, Real Oviedo has four matches scheduled for Monday, three for Friday, one for Wednesday and one for Thursday.”
Javier Tebas has been in charge of the Professional Football League since 2013 and has accumulated three terms, always voted by the majority of the 42 clubs that make up the First and Second Divisions, including Real Oviedo.
