Carlos Álamo explained that, with this agreement, Tourism of Gran Canaria aims to “have impact and promotional presence in 20 cities with First Division teamsin sports broadcasts, as well as capturing performance from 20 British cities directly connected by plane to Gran Canaria during this winter.”

In its part, Miguel Angel Ramirezpresident of UD Las Palmas, assured that this agreement allows the club to be “a perfect ambassador, and constitutes a unique opportunity so that a world-class tourist destination, like Gran Canaria, can find a platform to carry the name of the island, and also transfer social empathy to other latitudes to awaken them interest to know and visit our land“.

A few years ago, UD Las Palmas started a process of internationalization and wore its brand in the last two editions of the World Travel Market in London.

The yellow presence in London in 2022 resulted in the agreement of partnership with Norwich City FC“which are the English ‘canaries’, in yellow and green,” as he once noted Patricio Viñayogeneral director of the entity.

At the same time, it promoted a three-way agreement with Turismo de Gran Canaria and, for the first time in history, an English team named Gran Canaria in his clothes.
