Australian Nick Kyrgios, a Wimbledon finalist in 2022, was left off Australia’s roster, meaning he will not play in the first Grand Slam of the year or require an invitation to play in the tournament.
Kyrgios has only played one game since October 2022 due to various injuries to his wrist, knee and foot. Despite a brief reappearance on the last grass tour, the Australian has been on the sidelines of competition for more than a year with no return date in sight.
The ‘entry list’ of the tournament was published this Thursday, that is, the tennis players who signed up for it, Kyrgios does not appear in it, so the Canberra native will have to ask for an invitation from the Australian federation in case he is ready to compete.
A few weeks ago he assured that the stars “have to align” for his body to be ready to play.
During his absence from the circuit, Kyrgios took the opportunity to become a television commentator and participated in the last ATP Finals on the Tennis Channel sports channel.
