Rodin Cars has reached a significant milestone by taking the FZERO, its latest hypercar project, to the test track for the first time. Designed by tech billionaire and avid racer, David Dicker, the FZERO aims to surpass the success of his previous open-wheel track car, the FZED. This groundbreaking moment took place at Rodin Cars’ advanced facility near Mount Lyford in New Zealand’s South Island, which features a purpose-built test track and a high-tech production facility.
During his inaugural outing, David Dicker personally tested the FZERO and expressed immense pride in the team’s success. The hypercar promises unparalleled performance and dynamism, competing with hypercars established exclusively for the track. Powered by a custom twin-turbo V10 engine, the RC.TEN, built by Dicker, the FZERO boasts 1013bhp at 9500rpm, reaching a top speed of 360km/h.
Witnessed by the staff of Rodin Cars, the FZERO maneuvered the track effortlessly, symbolizing an important development for the future of the company. The hypercar’s closed design emphasizes a unique driving experience, harnessing the pure thrill of speed and visceral performance. The RC.TEN engine, an engineering masterpiece, will also be offered as a crate engine for motorsport applications, demonstrating Rodin Cars’ commitment to innovation.
As the FZERO project enters its next phase, the successful track debut marks the beginning of extensive testing and development, cementing Rodin Cars’ position in the hypercar landscape. The RC.TEN engine will be on display at the Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis, further highlighting the company’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive excellence.
