‘No hostage will be released unless he is exchanged for Palestinian prisoners’

Date:

The Israeli government has made it clear that it has no intention of continuing with the exchanges. According to Israeli authorities, Hamas is still holding 132 living hostages.

The Islamic group Hamas warned this Sunday that none of the hostages it took in its attack on Israel on October 7 and who are still held captive in the Gaza Strip will be released unless an agreement is reached to exchange them for Palestinians living in Israel being imprisoned, as has happened before…

“None of the enemy’s prisoners have been released and will not be released except through an exchange operation,” Abu Obaida, spokesman for the Al Qasam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said in a statement after Israeli ground forces tried — without success — to rescue hostages in the Strip last Friday.

Previously there was a temporary ceasefire in which dozens of hostages were released by hundreds of prisoners.

Yesterday, thousands of people took to the streets of Tel Aviv to demand the release of hostages still held by Hamas.

In this sense, Israel’s criticism of Netanyahu is growing because he continues the bombing of the Gaza Strip, despite the fact that there are Israeli hostages there.
