Global television platform Netflix has just made the official announcement of its next major live sporting event ‘The Netflix Slam’. It is on March 3 with a tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, which has a capacity for 12,000 spectators, and belongs to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
“I’m excited for my first visit to Las Vegas, one of the most emblematic and entertaining cities in the world. Also for playing Alcaraz. I’m sure it will be a fantastic night of tennis,” said Nadal.
“I feel very happy to share the court with Rafa in Las Vegas. He is one of the best players of all time, of course, and his records and achievements speak for themselves. Rafa is one of the best on tour and I’m looking forward to our match on March 3,” commented Alcaraz.
In addition to betting on sports docu-series, Netflix is doubling its commitment to live sports competitions that will start with the great match between two of the biggest stars, Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. Furthermore, this exhibition is well placed since three days after ‘The Netflix Slam’ the Indian Wells Masters 1000 begins.
Rafa Nadal recently announced his return to competition after nearly a year out due to hip surgery in what appears to be his last year as an active tennis player. The man from Manacor, who has been training regularly since October, is at the ATP in Brisbane as a preview of the next edition of the Australian Open, the first major of the 2024 season (January 14 to 28).
