Ducatithe brand that won the last two MotoGP World Championships including Italian Pecco Bagnaia at the helm, has announced an important change to its structure for next season: Mauro Grassilli will be the new sports director instead of Paolo Ciabattiwho left the position he held from 2013 to 2023 to join the new ‘off-road’ division created at the Italian brand as general manager.
Grassilli, until now the head of marketing and sponsorships, is expanding his scope of action at Ducati and his new role is the sports, marketing and communications director of the company based in Borgo Panigale.
Ciabatti has abandoned his MotoGP responsibilities, but will continue to coordinate Ducati’s sporting activity in the main national championships of Superbike and SSP (MotoAmerica, British Superbike, All Japan Superbike, Australian Superbike and CIV), as Ducati explained in its statement.
