Leo Messi’s beautiful tribute to Franz Beckenbauer on his Instagram

Date:

The Argentinian footballer Leo Messi fired the legendary German defender Franz Beckenbauer through the social network Instagram, where he published this Monday the image of ‘Kaiser’ when he was a player.

The captain of the Albiceleste, world champion in Qatar 2022 and winner of eight Ballon d’Ors, paid tribute to the legendary former Bayern Munich player with a black and white photo of the then defender, who died aged 78.

The photo is accompanied by the initials “RIP (May He Rest In Peace)”, and Beckenbauer can be seen here defending the German shirt and wearing the captain’s armband.

The German has expressed his admiration for ‘Flea’ on several occasions: “Messi is a wonderful player, who brings joy when he watches him play,” he said in 2017.

Although after Pelé’s death in 2022 he commented that, although the former Barcelona footballer was “now the best of all his generation”, the Brazilian was above all in history.

On a black day in the history of football, the Inter Miami attacker wants to honor one of the best players in this sport in the 20th century.
