Laia Sanz marks her best stage in cars in her Dakar career

What a great episode for both Nani Rome for Laia Sanz from less to more and together surf the final sands in this fourth stage of the Dakar Rally of 332 timed kilometers. With the two-wheel drive Astara, the one from Corbera de Llobregat achieved its best classification in a Dakar stage among cars, 14th, 16’38” behind Sebastien Loeb, the winner on stage.

In her third participation in the cars, second in Astara, Laia improved the 16th place she recorded on her resume in the second stage where she came in 25’11” behind the winner, Monsieur Dakar Peterhansel. In general classification, Laia Sanz rose to 17th place 1h16’31 behind Al Rajhi and just over three minutes from the top-15 currently held by Nani Roma

“I think it was a very positive day in general. At the beginning of the stage we lost a few minutes in a part where we were a bit confused, but then we recovered our rhythm well. I think there people who are still missed,” Laia commented.

“Then the last part, with Nani on the sands, was very fun. We increased the speed in the last part and I think we have to do it like this: days like today, push a little; days like yesterday, I’m sorry” he said.

Laia and her co-driver Gerini were second in the 4×2 general classification at 52″11 from Frenchman Matthieu Serradori.
