The French André-Pierre Gignac, 38 years old, scored his 200th goal on Wednesday with Tigers he is new Club Leon on the first closing day of the 2024 Mexican soccer championship tournament. With the two teams tied 1-1 after Ecuadorian Ángel Mena de León’s goal in the 50th minute and Sebastián Córdova’s equalizer in the 62nd, Gignac scored the 2 -1 winner thanks to a shot into the area in the 77th minute.
Since his arrival at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León club in 2015 from Marseille, Gignac has played 362 games. He set the goal of reaching 200 goals in 2023, but will have to wait until the first game of 2024 to achieve it.
