Asier Garitano understands the public’s whistles, but does not believe his position is in danger

Date:

Asier Garitano, coach of CD Tenerife, said after a new setback at home to his team, this Saturday against Andorra (0-0), that he understands the whistles of the public about the game, but he sees himself to continue strongly in the role despite a poor run of results, with just two wins in the last fifteen LaLiga Hypermotion games, and further away from promotion rivals.

The Basque coach understands the public protests “as part of football” and accepts the situation “naturally and professionally”, also convinced that he can reverse the current bad dynamics.

“I am not satisfied because the most important thing in football is the results, but the team believes, works hard, I see it every day, and in the last two rounds we have enough chances to win the games, but we have lack of success,” he explained in a press conference.

The Guipuzcoan coach was referring to last week’s draw, also without a goal, in Valencia against Levante, which along with Saturday’s draw extends his team’s drought.

“The best chances have been ours, in the first half we were very clear about taking the lead, but it wasn’t like that,” he argued.

Garitano justified that after the break “everything is more expensive, because of the anxiety of wanting to win and the tiredness of the people”, and in his opinion the interventions of the goalkeeper Juan Soriano “on the shots on outside the area and in transit situations” for Andorra.

Garitano assures that he continues to have the support of the club, which has even offered him a renewal: “They tell me to keep insisting for the next game and that’s what will happen, I have no different situation compared to the month of November, December or January.” , he pointed out.
