The Kazakh Elena Rybakina, first favorite and fifth in the world, stopped the Spanish Cristina Bucsa (n.74), in the quarterfinals of the women’s tournament in Abu Dhabi (Arab Emirates), winning 6-1 and 6-4, in just over an hour.
The first duel between the two tennis players saw Rybakina dominate in the first set, where she soon took a commanding 5-0 lead. Bucsa opened his scoring in the sixth game, with his serve.
The second round featured Bucsa’s reactionwho put his best tennis on the court and dominated with 3-1, after breaking the Kazakh’s serve in the fourth.
To the Spaniard’s chagrin, Rybakina found her punches again, giving more depth to her lip.and not only managed to balance the tournament but, after an unfavorable 3-4, they chained three consecutive games (the last one in a blank) that gave them the lead, and the passage to the semifinals.
A semi-final where the Russian will face Liudmila Samsonova (n.15 WTA), who earlier defeated Czech Barbora Krejcikova (n.1), 7-5 and 6-4.
