Armand Duplantis saying he is “in very good shape” despite failing to clear six meters in his first two competitions in 2024. The Swede is even aiming to beat his own world record of 6.23 meters this Thursday at the meeting of Clermont-Ferrand (France)before the Glasgow Indoor World Cup (March 1-3).
“I’m in good shape. I think my first two competitions of the year don’t reflect my true form. I know I’m in very good shape, I’m training very well, at the level I want. My first two competitions are a it’s a little frustrating, but it’s a very small thing and easy to solve. I feel good, safe, strong, fast. I have confidence in what to do, where I am. I know I’m at a high level now,” said Duplantis , who will attack his world record.
“My goal on Thursday is to jump 6.24 meters, but first I have to take another step. First, I have to win and pass the bars below six meters, but I think it is possible, that it is within reach -my hand,” he added in Swedish.
