Pogba’s Juventus thing has fallen apart

Date:

Paul Pogba (30) became a player of Juventus Turin in two stages. The first and successful one goes from 2012 to 2016 and another, less glorious, from 2022 to 2024. And, apparently, the French midfielder can face his last months as a Vecchia Signora footballer.

The journalist who specializes in Juve, Romeo Agresti, pointed out from Italy that almost all that is missing is the official status for the Serie A club and the footballer to announce that they are parting their ways. So, it’s only a matter of time because “all signs are pointing in that direction,” he said.

“Pogba is a closed chapter,” he said emphatically about the former French international, who tested positive on August 20 for DHEA, a substance used to increase testosterone levels and which is permitted by Italian sports laws. The prosecution asked for a 4-year sentence to be imposed on the Juventus player.

Signs of a rift between Juventus and Pogba were already seen in October, with Juventus upset by the Frenchman’s attitude to the whole doping issue. Regardless of how the trial ended (even if he was acquitted), the adventure of the 2018 world champion, who has a contract until 2026, seems to be over. We just need to know when and how.
