Sabadell beat Real Unión, and stayed out of relegation for the second straight week, thanks to a header from center back Pau Resta after a corner ten minutes from time. This goal confirms the good start to 2024 for a Sabadell team that has added 17 of the 24 points at stake in these two months, figures that contrast with the 11 points achieved in the first four months of the season and which the team was left behind. .
Sabadell were fair winners in a match where scoring opportunities were few and far between. But the harlequinades became fewer. In the first half almost no one came to the places. The first dominance was from Real Unión, but there was no bite at the top. Despite this, the best chance of the first half was a shot against the harlequinade post by Abde Damar on the half hour.
After the restart, Real Unión had the best chance of a game where the locals claimed a foul in midfield, but Solís’ one-on-one with goalkeeper Ortolà was saved by the Sabadell goalkeeper.
Sabadell, on the strength of the tireless David Astals, got their reward thanks to a header from Pau Resta that ended their excellent match in both defense and attack.
In the score against, the Irundarra team introduced changes, but they had no effect and so Sabadell proved its fifth win in the last eight games and its improvement in defense that allowed it to stop being the best category defense.
