Investments by footballers and ex-footballers are common. Restaurants, hotels and even sports entities are some of the preferences of athletes. The purchase of football clubs is also booming and the proof of this is what some former famous footballers will do who will now, for the most part, become coaches.
The agent of one of them, Rob Jansen, revealed in the podcast ‘Kieft Jansen Egmond Gijp’ the name of five joint investors in an English club whose name is unknown. “We are in the process of buying a club in England. I can’t say which club yet. I can say which group we will do it with: Ronald Koeman, Dennis Bergkamp, Henrik Larsson and Dirk Kuyt“.
“We will do it with some other close people and we also have people who specialize in finance. By the way, the club does not have to be from London,” Jansen commented, giving some clues. This is not the first time that Koeman (Dutch coach), Larsson (no team) and company have tried to buy a club in England. In 2019, they wanted to buy Wycombe Wanderers, which was later acquired by American investors.
