Tsitsipas did not disappoint in Acapulco under the distant gaze of Paula Badosa

The current champion Alex de Minaur defeated Sebastian Ofner 6-1, 6-3 this Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals in the Mexican Open that will take place this week in Acapulco.

Tsitsipas is 0-10 in 500 finals, including Acapulco in 2021. De Minaur became the first defending champion in Mexico to reach the quarterfinals since Dominic Thiem in 2017.

In the final match of the day Holger Rune defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic 7-6(5), 6-2 and he will face German Dominik Koepfer this Thursday in the quarterfinals, who beat American Frances Tiafoe, eighth seed, 6-4, 5-7 and 6-1.

For his part, Jack Draper reached the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Yoshihito Nishioka and will now face Miomir Kecmanovic, who beat Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-4.
