Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz Jr They were protagonists in most of the preseason after the arrival of the British in Ferrari in place of the Madrid native starting in 2025. Whims of fate, or of F1, the two sat together at the first press conference of the season in Bahrain GP.
Logically, they monopolized some questions and one in particular asked about the possibility that the relationship between the two would be reduced. Hamilton was the first to respond and it’s clear that the Briton has a deep respect for what Sainz has achieved in red.
“Carlos has done a great job at Ferrari and will continue to do so in the future at another team.. It’s not personal. Also, I have a great relationship with Carlos, at least that’s what I see. There is a lot of respect between us. “I don’t think there’s any kind of hatred.”
“Carlos has come a long way since he started in this sport and has contributed to the decisions made in F1 so that it has gone in the direction taken in this sport. I repeat, clearly, he has done a great job at Ferrari and he will surely do the same for his next team. What happened is something that happens often in the world of racing. I hope nothing changes between us. I never thought he would do it,” he said.
Carlos spoke along the same lines, indicating that there was no resentment at the move the seven-time world champion made in the final years of his career. “He decided to join a great team like Ferrari and I would have done the same in your position.he commented.
