He Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is undergoing a remodeling process at some of its points in order to offer new experiences to its attendees MotoGP Grand Prix but especially F1. 50 million euros have been invested in improvements for the period 2022-2026
“For MotoGP, we will finish everything on the terrace, the pit building, the control tower, almost the entire Rooftop structure, which will be finished for F1... The pit building also has a second floor, as well as a terrace cover,” commented Josep Lluís Santamaría, director of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in front of the media, with MD.
“The spaces where we worked were dedicated to carrying out many activities that until now have not been done in the Circuit. We have converted these small spaces into large rooms of more than 500 square meters. Everything is thought of, not only about hospitality, but also about activities, conferences, product presentations… that the Circuit can be a driving force for companies, products and people enjoy apart from what’s on the track.
The RoofTop, the great new thing
This is a building installed on the back straight of the Circuit and will be operational starting from the F1 GP in June. On the first floor there are areas for VIPs while the second will be used for exhibitions and events. On the terrace, you can enjoy beautiful views of Turn 10, the entrance to the Estadi area.
Comprehensive reform of the control tower
The legendary control tower is also undergoing a comprehensive renovation with changes to the press room, briefing room, steward and timing room and hospitality area.
Pit building changes
Large automatic blinds are being installed in the pit area while the terrace on the second floor will be covered and new spaces and rooms will be created and during the Grand Prix they will serve as hospitality.
VIP Tribune
The VIP Grandstand at Turn 10 will also undergo changes and the idea is that it will be covered. It has about 1,000 seats and half will be reserved for teams while the other half will be put up for sale.
