The coordinator of the candidacy, the Portuguese Antonio Laranjo, is in charge of unveiling the logo of the contest, a competition intended to have an “impact on future generations”, at a ceremony in Oeiras Football City, outside of Lisbon.
“We have different customs, we have different traditions and, however, it is clear that working together we have more in common than the differences we can see,” said Laranjo. He added, with that “spirit of unity and passion” that the three countries are heading towards 2030: “this is our year, a desire to develop, to advance, to go”.
“Our logo represents the key elements of our geographic locationthe sun, a key element that makes our countries one of the main tourist destinations in the world,” said Laranjo.
Another is the sea, “which celebrates unique shores”, which connects Spain, Portugal and Morocco and connects them with the world and football, “a common desire in the hearts of people.”
Laranjo points out that these three elements together represent “some of the main forces” where three countries present themselves in the 2030 World Cup.
