“Zagallo deserves all the tributes. Honoring his memory in a national team match, in a stadium in Wembley tree, has a more special meaning. It is a just tribute to a legend of world football,” said Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian federation, who will join the ‘Canarinha’ these days in their friendlies at Wembley against England and at the Santiago Bernabéu against Spain.

Zagallo, who died in January of this year, participated as a player in 1958 and 1962 World Cupshe was a coach in the 1970 victory and part of the coaching staff in the 1994 World Cup, making him one of three coaches to have won the World Cup as a player and as a coach, along with Franz Beckenbauer and Didier Deschamps, and the only one with three cups in his record.
