The superpole of Catalunya Round within Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is closed to Toprak Razgatlioglu in the first position. The Turk took off and set a new record on the Catalan track (1’39”489), in a session where up to ten drivers lapped faster than the old track record and there were two. bmw and three Ducati in the top five positions.
Nicolò Bulega (Ducati) and Andrea Iannone (Ducati) achieved the second and third positions respectively, while Michael van der Mark (bmw), Sam Lowes (Ducati) and Dominique Aegerter (yamaha) closed the first six places.
Alvaro Bautista (Ducati) closed the session in a cautious 11th position and Jonathan Rea (yamaha) in 13th place.
