Collided with stayer – driver survives in completely destroyed wreck

Date:

Was it a guardian angel or just the safety equipment? A 42-year-old from Bad Kreuzen in Upper Austria crashed his station wagon at full speed into a bridge pillar on Friday evening. While the car was completely destroyed, the passenger compartment remained largely intact and the driver was taken to the Linz accident hospital.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, the emergency services were alerted to a traffic accident in the municipality of Perger on the B3 national road. Contrary to the alarm, it turned out at the scene that the driver was not trapped in his heavily damaged vehicle, but was accessible and standing next to the station wagon on the driver’s side.
