Álex Palou (Chip Ganassi) and Felix Rosenqvist (Meyer Shank) secured two pole positions this Saturday for the race at The Thermal Club which represents a new experiment in the IndyCar era.
A circuit at a private club in the California desert will host this test on Sunday where First, there will be two qualifying races (‘heat races’).
The six fastest from each of them will go to the final race of 20 laps, with a break, without points for the general classification of IndyCar and has a prize for the winner of half a million dollars.
Current IndyCar champion, Palou will start in first position in the second of the races qualifying races while Rosenqvist took pole for first.
Mexican Pato O’Ward (Arrow McLaren) will start ninth in the second heat race, while Argentine Agustín Canapino (Juncos Hollinger) achieved the eighth best time for the first race.
