Girona took the three points against Mercantil in a colorful match that went down to the local side, with two goals in extra time.
Mercantil came out better and initially forced the local goalkeeper to show off and then sent the ball over the post. However, Girona got it right the first time it came. A pass from Elian to Enric made it 1-0. Before the break, Elian missed the second.
After the restart, Girona scored 2-0 with a header from Enric and a few minutes later, the hesitation between the defense and the goalkeeper ended with an own goal by Marc Fernández (1-1). This goal restored the confidence of Mercantil, who immediately turned the score around with a great goal from a free kick by Alejo, who put the ball into the top corner. From here Girona pushed harder and got their reward in extra time. Nacho dribbled past a defender and delivered the death pass to Cantero, who did not forgive. And then a clear handball in the area meant a penalty which Mora converted to make it 3-2.
