Ulster is back in rugby with European Cup winner and former assistant manager Johnny Bell.
Bale has signed a three-year contract to replace defensive manager Jared Payne, who will travel to Claremont this summer.
Skills manager Craig Newby has also extended his contract and will remain at Kingsspan until 2024.
Ulster and Ireland Center Bell was previously trained at Ulster as an Elite Player Development Officer before becoming a Technical Assistant in 2011-2015.
He then moved to Gloucester and spent five years coaching defense before taking on the role of attacking manager at Glasgow Warriors during the 2020-21 season.
Bale will return to Kingspan this summer from the Premier League squad at the Worcester Warriors, where he currently coaches the defence.
Meanwhile, the former All Black Newby joined Ulster last summer on a one-year contract as a skills manager from his main rugby role at St John’s School in Leicester.
Noby has also coached the England Under-20 striker and has served on both the Wasps U18 and Harlequins U16 coaching staff. He signed the boycott for another two years.
Head coach Dan MacFarland said, “Returning to John County is an exciting opportunity. Defense has been at the forefront of his game, both as a player and as a manager, and he has coaching experience that will be invaluable to us.
“I know he will fit in well with our strong technical staff and we look forward to his return.
“It’s also great that Craig has bought what we’re building on as a club and has agreed to extend his time with us.
“He has seamlessly integrated into our coaching staff and has already done an impressive job developing the skills of our senior players and the academy.”
