The Toledo Jordan Camachoa former member of the national team, was declared on Saturday night new Spanish super bantamweight championby defeating the Tenerife native via KO in the 10th round Jacob Barreto, former champion of the bantamweight category.
The battle took place at Mad Fight Stadiumin San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid), in a night that had a great atmosphere and saw great fights, with Camacho vs Barreto full of intensity.
As said by Royal Spanish Boxing FederationCamacho seemed to be in control of the fight in the early stages, although the Tenerife man improved and in the 8th he put the new champion in a lot of trouble, especially with a hand to the body that left him shaking.
But, in the 9th round, Camacho seemed to recover and came up with a good hand against the islander’s furious attack. In 10th, a good student combination of Jose Maria Tristan sent to canvas for account ‘Caco’ Barreto.
Jordan Camacho’s veteran and legendary coach, Jose Maria Tristancommented: “We are very happy with the victory but, honestly, Barreto had a great fight and deserved to go 10 rounds.”
