“They haven’t excited me in all the years I’ve been in politics”

Date:

Not this time. But will Eva Parera run in the next RFEF elections?

Yes, of course, it’s a long-distance race and if you don’t show up now you have little credibility thinking about the second election.

How do you feel about what has happened so far since you publicly announced your intention to run?

It doesn’t leave me any sensation. Neither good nor bad. It is known that these elections are very complicated. It is very difficult to mobilize someone for a five-month presidency. Now everyone is thinking about what comes next in a new Assembly. And that is where the work is and where we have to work with all sectors of the football world

What does it tell you that Pedro Rocha achieved the support of 107 endorsements?

The first thing is that the accounts are not working for me. We will see how many have been validated by the Electoral Commission because I believe there are endorsements from expired members of the assembly. But this does not mean that we should congratulate him and remind him that his only job now is to call a new election as soon as possible. I also take the opportunity to extend my hand to talk to FIFA and about the World Cup candidacy. We have to continue this because we have a lot at stake.

What does Eva Parera offer to the world of football?

Regeneration, which is what the RFEF is asking for now. I also offer my knowledge, management, all my years in politics, my integrity, which nowadays is a very important word. I have never been so upset in all the years I have been in the world of politics. And that proves my dignity.

I also offer the power to solve football problems. I know I have the ability to get everyone involved to sit at the same table. Also, I’m not going to judge anyone because I don’t want to play the insult game. I didn’t get into any smear game at any time.

Do you feel mistreated by the RFEF Electoral Commission?

Yes. Actually, I openly complained. I have participated in many elections and the normal thing is to ask the Assembly Members Electoral Commission for information and for them to give it to you. And the truth is that we haven’t played evenly. It is very simple that my letter asking for endorsement to the members of the assembly was sent by them themselves because they did not want to give me the information. And not only did they do this, but they also told me in writing that they were not here to help me. And they have an obligation to treat us all equally. Seems obvious to me and they put it in writing too.

What will Eva Parera do if she becomes president in the next election?

Undoubtedly the first thing is to resolve relations with FIFA and UEFA. We need to activate relations with both institutions as well as LaLiga. Furthermore, we must review the functioning of the RFEF because many things have failed. It will also change the arbitration system, creating a mixed commission where clubs also participate in the appointments. Furthermore, I believe that the evaluation of their actions should be known.

We also need to change the whole team of coaches, find out where the 3% that each of them contributes goes. It’s a lot of money. You have to work on many things. I will create an executive commission within the RFEF where all representative bodies are (presidents of territorial areas, clubs, players, etc.) but with a maximum of 7 people.

It will bring back futsal and beach soccer. In recent years there has been a purge of people unrelated to Luis Rubiales. It’s a political position where you work for everyone, whether you like them or not. And we also need to work for the transparency of the Federation because a lot of opacity is visible.

What do you think of the RFEF situation?

I am concerned. There is still no final ruling but there are many indications that there may be convictions. The image of the Spanish Football Federation has been damaged. The fact that this Friday we have the image of the new president Pedro Rocha entering a trial. I think it is not good at all.

I think all this happening will affect the image of Spain. It will be difficult to recover the image of the Federation. The fact that the last presidents of this establishment were accused, I think is not good at all.

Is the 2030 World Cup in danger?

Like no, I know no. The World Cup is not in danger until FIFA intervenes. If this does not happen, there is no danger in the celebration. But I think the final is in danger. FIFA has had an empty seat for months in the Federation and we need to make up for lost time
