The 2025 Australian Grand Prix will open the Formula One season for the first time in six years, instead of Bahrainafter the International Automobile Federation (FIA) published next year’s calendar this Friday.
The 24-race season begins on March 16 in Melbourne and ends on December 7 in Abu Dhabi.as Formula One celebrates the 75th anniversary of its world championship.
The Bahrain Grand Prix became the opening race of the season from 2021, while the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix became the second race on the calendar from 2022.
Formula 1 will not compete at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemicbut will now host the inaugural race instead of the Middle Eastern kingdom as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan falls in March next year.
The first European race will take place at Imola in May as part of a triple event that also includes Monaco and Spain, whose GP will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya between May 30 and June 1.
Exam schedule and sprint schedule will be announced later.
The current season has sprints in six Grands Prix: China, Miami, Austria, United States (Austin), Brazil and Qatar.
