The Americans Christopher Eubanks and Ben Shelton will be two of the main figures in world tennis playing at the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships in Calviáa contest in which Jaume Munar has also confirmed his participation, and in which the final poster will be announced in the coming weeks.
As confirmed by the organizers of the presentation of the only tournament played on natural grass in Spain – between June 22 and 29 – before Wimbledon, Eubanks will defend the title he won last year by defeating Frenchman Adrián Mannarino by 6-1 and 6-4.
Toni Nadal, director of the tournament, said that the presence of Jaume Munar, “a player made on the island” on the courts of the Mallorca Country Club will be “a great attraction” for the development of the competition.
Promoter Edwin Weindorfer confirmed that The tournament will have a budget of four million euros. “This year we have a fourth wild card, so there are more surprises in terms of players,” he added.
Attending the presentation of the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships were, among other authorities, Juan Antonio Amengual, mayor of Calviá; Joan Antoni Ramonell, general director of Sports of the Balearic Government and José María Bautista, managing director of the Board of Trustees of the Mallorca Tourism Foundation.
