UEFA has made public to all clubs the dates for players to register for the new UEFA competition formats. Champions League and Europa League; in addition to the Conference League.
The first deadline is set for Tuesday, September 3. This is the last one for clubs to notify the A and B list for the first part of the competition.
European football’s highest body affirms that any football player who has participated in any qualifying match, up to and including the playoffs, of the Champions League, Europa League or the Conference League; can play for another club in any of the UEFA club competitions, but only from the league stage onwards.
And the next important date for the registration of new players is February 6, 2025. As in previous seasons, clubs have the right to register three new players for the Champions knockout stage play-offs League, the Europa League and the Conference League. Three new players can be included in UEFA club competitions in the same season and there are no restrictions on which competition these players have previously fielded, so a player can be included in the league stage of the League of Champions of one club and in the knockout phase of the Champions League of another club.
Exceptional situation for leagues played during the calendar year
Exceptionally, clubs participating in national championships that begin and end in the same calendar year will have the right to register additional players after the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase for the remaining matches of the current competition .
If six or more players from the club’s A list are no longer registered with their national association as players of the club concerned, the club may register one additional player, i.e. a total of four new eligible player.
If eight or more players from the club’s A list are no longer registered with their national association as players of the club in question, the club may register two additional players, i.e. a total of five new eligibles -must be player.
