The Danish Tobias Andresen once again showed his mastery of mass arrivals and won his third stage of the Tour of Türkiyewhich ends tomorrow in Istanbul and is still led by Dutchman Frank van den Broek.
Andresen, as he did in stages four and five, led the peloton to the finish line, this time ahead of Belgian Timothy Dupont and Spaniard Manuel Peñalver (Burgos BH).
The seventh day of the Turkish race, 125 kilometers between Cesme and Izmir, recorded only a few escape attempts, which were always neutralized by the work of DSM, the team of Andresen and Van den Broek. Not even the only difficulty of the day, a third category stop, serves to break the peloton.
The mass arrival in Izmir is almost an exact replica of the two that Andresen won. DSM led the pack with one kilometer to go, imposed a very high cruising speed and just over a hundred meters from the finish line the Dane jumped unchallenged to victory.
The Tour of Türkiye ends this Sunday with a 105.4 kilometer stage that starts and ends in Istanbul. Frank van den Broek will defend the lead in a ride with little comfort and a slim advantage of four seconds over Eritrean Merhawi Kudus and nine over Englishman Paul Double.
Mario Aparicio (Burgos BH) is the first Spaniard in the general standings, 24 seconds behind the leader.
