He Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Saint Andrews (Scotland) has reopened its historic Clubhouse, known throughout the world as ‘The Home of Golf’ following the completion of renovations to expand the building and implement new and improved facilities.
The renovation of the Clubhouse was the largest in the last 100 years, with the last significant expansion of this world-renowned building taking place in 1924.
Improvements include new and expanded changing rooms to provide women’s facilities; a new heritage hall displaying the historic architectural plans of the Clubhouse; a new Member Store; a refurbished Trophy Room displaying the Club’s trophies and medals; and a new golf concierge desk offering member services.
Martin Slumbers, Secretary of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrewssaid: “All members will now be able to enjoy new and improved facilities that will enrich their experience of visiting and playing golf at Saint Andrews.
