The Catalonia Open WTA 125 – Terres de Lleida International Tournament has already configured the main draw, with the presence of fifteen players located in the top-100 of the WTA ranking.
Among them all, the presence of American Emma Navarro (23), the first seed in the tournament and who will make her debut against Bernarda Pera, stands out. Whoever wins will meet the finalist of the first edition, fellow American Elizabeth Mandlik, in the round of 16.
The second favorite of the championship, the Czech Katerina Siniakova (40), champion of four Grand Slams, the WTA Finals and the Tokyo Olympic Games in the doubles category, will debut against Alycia Parks.
In the last painting there is a double representation of Catalan. Rebeka Masarova, currently 89th in the world ranking and recent finalist at the WTA 125 in La Bisbal, will face young 19-year-old Russian tennis player Erika Andreeva.
Guiomar Maristany, who has accepted an invitation, will make his debut against the Japanese Nao Hibino.
The other three invitations are for Catalan-licensed tennis player Carlota Martínez, in addition to American Sofia Kenin (60), who starts as sixth favorite and former Australian Open champion, and Spaniard Irene Burillo. Exactly, these last two will face each other in the first round.
The four qualifying matches to be held on Monday were postponed due to rain. They will be played on that Tuesday, starting at ten in the morning, parallel to the dispute in the first matches of the first round.
