more than a month ago Novak Djokovic has surprisingly announced that he is ending his partnership with Goran Ivanisevichis coach since 2018.
“Goran and I decided to stop working a few days ago. Our chemistry on the court had its ups and downs, but our friendship has always been strong. Thanks for everything friend. I love you” wrote the world number 1 on his Instagram account.
The Croatian joins the farewell of Edoardo and Elena, his managers for 13 years, an announcement he made at the end of 2022. “Together we made the history of tennis and reached incredible heights in this sport. Your contribution to the success is important and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. You will remain in my heart as dear ones friend and part of my family,” shared Djokovic.
Undoubtedly, the world number 1 is in the process of change which experienced its last episode on Tuesday the announcement of the end of his working relationship with Marco Panichihis physical trainer for the last ten years.
“Well done Marco, we had a great year working together. We reached the summit, we won titles, we broke records. But most of all, I enjoyed our more “ordinary” training days in and out of the gym. Endless hours of laughter that made me feel super motivated to prepare myself for success,” Nole wrote on his Instagram account.
“Grazie Romanista (as Goran calls you) for all the energy, effort and time you put into making me the best player and possibly a person. Much love and see you soon in Rome. Forzaaaa” he finished.
All this is happening in a new phase in his career where he is more selective with his calendar and playing fewer tournaments, not yet knowing whether he would put himself in the hands of a coach or not.
“I still don’t have a clear idea of who the new coach will be or if there will be one.. I’ve had coaches since I was little, now I’m trying to feel for myself what I need, what I’m most comfortable with. “We will let you know if someone joins the team,” he explained a few weeks ago in remarks reported by ‘Tennis Majors’.
