35 former footballers have sued English football for negligence over brain injuries

A group of 35 former soccer players, some of them from Premier Leaguehas sued various entities in English football for brain injuries sustained while playing the sport.

These footballers sued the English federation, the federation of Welshin English Football League, dealing with the Second to Fourth divisions, and the IFAB, which is in charge of designing football’s rules, for being “negligent” when it comes to protecting football players from brain injuries caused by hitting the ball with the head

Richard Boardmanthe prosecution lawyer, assured that this first hearing, which will be held this Wednesday pending the trial date, seeks “justice” for those not protected by the football authorities from suffering brain damage.

“The defendants are trying to drag out the process,” he added.

A spokesperson for FA He said they could not comment on anything because a legal process was underway, but added that they were constantly reviewing and improving the safety of the sport.
