The Argentinian Leandro Paredesplayer of Romedeclared this Wednesday that the reason for his team’s improvement in recent months is the arrival of Daniel De Rossi, who managed the ‘giallorossi’ after the sacking of Portuguese José Mourinho. “I didn’t just grow, the whole team grew. It’s because of the enthusiasm he brought to us and because of the style of play, which is better for me and for everyone. That’s why we grew,” Paredes said in the previous press conference at the Europa League semi-final match against Bayer Leverkusen.
“His playing style is similar to what I like, I’m looking for my best form, I feel better and I hope to continue like this because I still have a lot to improve,” he explained. “For me, De Rossi was a coach when he played next to me,” highlighted the Argentine, who shared a dressing room with his current coach in the 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons.
“I was always very close to him, from the first day I got along very well. Having him now as a coach is a pleasure and I hope to continue working and contributing with him and the team,” he added. Paredes laughingly commented that De Rossi’s best qualities are “the personality” and “the quality” he has because “he is a complete midfielder, there are few like him,” although he assured that “he eats too much.”
