This morning, the Mercat de Sant Antoni in the Catalan capital, within the framework of the celebration of the Petit Mercat de Mercats fair, was the chosen setting to make the agreement official, which will link the markets of Barcelona to the historic Catalan race. An event that will start the countdown to the first edition of the test and which includes, among others, the recent Catalan Road Cycling Champion, Paula Blasi, a member of Massi Baix Ter, who will be one of the participating teams of the first edition of testing.
Mercats de Barcelona entering the first stage of the edition of the Volta women’s event will sponsor the award for the best race team. An award in which 20 participating teams will compete, which with its international category UCI 2.1 will have the presence of 7 UCI World Teamsfrom the first world division, and more than a dozen UCI Women’s Continental Teams, as well as national teams such as Massi-Baix Ter or the Catalan team.
This group classification will decide, at the end of the three stages of the race, which team has added the most points throughout the three days, and is therefore positioned at the head of the classification.
