Kecmanovic got revenge on Ruud in Roma

Date:

The Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic ended this Friday with Casper Ruud in second round of the Rome Masters 1,000 (0-6, 6-4 and 6-4)revenge for the rivalry in the recent tournament in Madrid suffered by the Norwegian tennis player.

A few days ago, on April 27, Casper Ruud ended the run of the Serbian – number 58 – in Madrid, strangely in the same round where they met again in the capital of Italy, on the Norwegian’s favorite surface, still unable to make the jump expected of him in recent years .

Semi-finalist in the last edition of Rome, he had to seek medical help and, perhaps weakened physically, he saw how, in his first match of this edition, Kecmanovic came back from an impeccable first set, a 6 -0 which seems to put the fight back beyond doubt.

But far from giving up, the Serbian, number 58, was not afraid of the seventh in the circuit and gradually grew until he broke the morale of a Ruud where things did not work out.

Having just lost the second set, Ruud sought medical attention for what appeared to be discomfort in his shoulder, something that encouraged Kecmanovic to appear superior.

The Norwegian tried to overcome his ailments but could not stop the attacks of his rival, very bad in the match, eager for victory and revenge to get through to the third round.

And after an intense decisive set that lasted 1 hour, with a break in his favor, Kecmanovic managed to defeat the favorite of the rivalry to find the third round, where he will face the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, number 106 on the circuit. Ruud was left out in the first change, in his first game in this edition of Roma.
