Woods noted that he informed the golf association that he would not compete between the 16th and 19th at The Brookline Country Clubwhere the Spaniards would defend the title Jon Rahm.
“My body needs more time to get strong for the big golf championships. I hope and plan to be ready to play in Ireland and The (British) Open next month,” the American said.
Woods retired last month after the third day of PGA Championship, the second tournament he played after reappearing at the Augusta Masters. The American was seen conditioned by a painful leg that broke last year in a serious road accident.
