Official: Kramer, the historic Schalke bet

The historical Schalke 04, who after his relegation returned next season in the Bundesgliga, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Frank Kramer as New Coachwith a two -year contract.

Kramer, 50, was fired in April by Arminia Bielefeld, who was relegated to Second at the end of the year. He also managed Greuther Fürth, Fortuna Düsseldorf and the German Under-20 team.

Kramer replaced Michael Buskens, who as interim manages the return of the historic team from Gelsenkirchen to the Bundesliga. Büskens will act as assistant to the new coach.

Kramer’s mission is to make sure the permanence of Schalke, who, despite passing the Second Division, have 160,000 members like Borussia Dortmund, just behind Bayern’s 293,000.

Schalke were one in the history of German football and seven -time league champions, before the creation of the Bundesliga. His last title began in 1958, but he was runner-up, after Bayern, in 2018.
