The British Andy Murray entered the first round of the Stuttgart lawn tennis tournament by beating the Australian from previous Christopher O’Connell in two sets.
Although the match did not get off to a good start, the Briton and won pretty clearly 6-4 and 6-3 in 95 minutes.
Murray, who has won 46 titles throughout his career, decided to do without the clay court contests to devote himself to the preparation of the weeds. Last week the two-time Wimbledon winner took part in the Surbiton Challenge (UK) and reached the semi-finalswhere he fell to American Denis Kudla.
He could face the American again in the second round of Kudla if he defeats seventh-seeded Kazakh Alexander Bublik.
