The main press conference of the Media Day of the Italian GP was put together in the same conference room Jorge Martín, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez. The Catalan was very serious in his speech to avoid misinterpretations of his words, calm with the duo Martín and Bagnaia when approaching the journalists.
Bagnaia revealed early on to DAZN that he asked Ducati not to tell him anything, but he did make one request.
“They don’t tell me anything because I asked that I don’t know anything. Because I want to finish in front of everyone, I don’t care. All that has been said is that the new arrival need not destroy the harmony within the box. We have done very well in recent years to have this climate and I will be angry if it is destroyed,” commented Bagnaia, who whenever he is asked in public chooses not to get too wet, to support his colleague Enea Bastinini.
“When you put two drivers in the same team to win the same title, they have to be very smart to work together when the tests come. Later in the season, it’s normal to always fight with a lot of respect and work well,” warned of the two-time MotoGP champion who during his Moto3 phase with a Mahindra in the ranks of the Aspar team shared daily with Jorge Martín and they were christened ‘Chip and Chop’.
Having already resolved his future before the start of the current season in March, Bagnaia joked about not being part of the ‘mercato’ rumor mill. “I’m jealous that I don’t have any more options (laughs). For me it’s positive, I’m in love with my future, I chose Ducati and Ducati chose me and our love story is going well, I have nothing more to ask for, I have the best bike and I love it”.
