Jagoba Arrasate will have a big challenge trying to forget Javier Aguirre as Mallorca’s ‘capo’. The bar is high, but the vermilion club are looking to invest this summer to shore up their somewhat ‘lame’ positions over the past year.
According to Diario de Mallorca, sports management has been closely following Frenchman Kyliane Dong, an U20 international and member of Troyes in the French Second Division, throughout the year. And they are not putting aside the bidding for the young ‘pearl’ this summer.
Dong, 19, can play as a winger on either wing and also as a forward, although he plays better on the right. Nothing is firm at the moment, but the idea of sports management is to push Dong and he will be one of the first ‘gifts’ for Arrasate.
It is not only scouts of Mallorca who closely follow the young French international, but also suitors in the Premier and French Ligue 1. Last month, Antwerp, Bruges and Standard de Liege, three teams from Belgium , is also following their developments. Dong has a contract until 2025 and Mallorca will try to ‘catch’ him.
