The UEFA has made official the perfect eleven of Champions League 2023-2024. Of those selected, the majority is divided between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, the two finalists. The four teams that reached the semifinals managed to have at least one player make it to the ‘team of the season’.
Kroos, the great absentee
One of Real Madrid’s most outstanding footballers in the Champions League is Toni Kroos, who will retire at the end of the season. Without going any further, it is impossible to understand the tie in the first leg of the semi-finals at the Allianz Arena without the German’s intelligence and vision of the game, which will undoubtedly be largely absent from the selected UEFA eleven. Not like other footballers either Kylian Mbappé or Haalandbrilliant in the first stage, but faded after the quarterfinals.
This is the eleven chosen by UEFA
Kobel (Dortmund); Carvajal (Real Madrid), Rudiger (Real Madrid), Hummels (Dortmund), Maatsen (Dortmund); Sabitzer (Dortmund), Vitinha (PSG), Bellingham (Real Madrid); Foden (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Vinícius JR (Real Madrid). In addition, Vini was selected as the best player in the competition.
