“That’s a shame” – Vandalism: Seniors pictures in Ischl Leafed

Date:

It is one of the most beautiful projects: the “Åhnlroas”. Seniors are stylishly photographed. Now the photos that can be seen in the Sisi Park in Bad Ischl in the Salzkammergut were smeared by strangers. “Very sad, the old people would have taken their photos quickly – they looked forward to it,” says artist Catherine Ebers

“It went well for a year and students recently made a nice video – and now this spread campaign is happening at the end,” Catherine is surprised.

The photographer, who lives in Vienna, returned to her house in Bad Ischl last year for a “Åhnlroas”: she exhibited stylish portraits of “mature models” in the Sisi Park, and heart dreams are also lived in the romantic photos. The ladies and gentlemen portrayed come from the region.

Now the unashamed Vandale deed
A few days ago, faces were caught and illegible by unknown vandals. “Maybe out of boredom,” says Ebers this meaningless action. “Ten works are being hit. A pity and very sad, because my models would have given me these boards with their portraits in a few days. Now you can only throw away the photos in the trash.”

New photo series will be set soon
Ebser cannot be deterred from the “Åhnlroas”: “From July 5 I will show new portraits of seniors in the Sisi Park. I want to show that everyone is a sensual, worthy person, not how old they are. With good styling, these portraits of the older generation from the series have to dance.” This time she found her models in Wels, Salzburg and of course also in the region.

Nobody has earned a smear!
She records the central message of her project. “When I’m old, I don’t want to be invisible or colorless – and of course I don’t want to be lubricated,” she summarizes it. Vandalism has no place in our society.
