The players of the Spanish men’s basketball team successfully passed the medical examination carried out at HM Hospitals as a preliminary step to the start of the pre-Olympic tournament in Valencia, which will take place between July 2 and 7.
The medical examination included a complete physical examination, echocardiogram and electrocardiogram, with complete analytical extraction, all led by Dr. Carlos Mascías, medical director of HM Madrid Río University Hospital, and Dr. Leticia Fernández-Friera, director of the Comprehensive Center for HM CIEC Cardiovascular Diseases, in coordination with the medical services of the team, led by Dr. Carlos Salas.
Before the pre-Olympic, Sergio Scariolo’s team will face a friendly match in Madrid against Italy, on June 25, and against the Dominican Republic in Alicante, on June 28.
The men’s team risks its presence at the Paris Olympic Games in the Valencia Pre-Olympic Tournament, where it will debut on July 2 against Lebanon and the next day it will play Angola and, if it passes the first stage, it will face the semifinals and finals on the 6th and 7th of July.
The Pre-Olympic will be held at the Fuente de San Luis pavilion in the Valencian capital and the ‘presumptive’ rivals in the final stage could be Poland, Finland and the Bahamas.
