Switzerland-Italy, in the round of 16 and England, France and the Netherlands, qualified

The second place in group B obtained by Italy against Croatia, thanks to Mattia Zaccagni’s excellent goal in the last minute of extra time (1-1), confirmed the first pairing of the round of 16 of Euro 2024.

The ‘azzurra’, current Euro Cup champions, face Switzerland next Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The Swiss finished second in Group A on Sunday after missing out on a win against hosts Germany (1-1) in extra time.

There are already eight classifieds

Germany, Spain and Portugal, qualified for the round of 16 as the first in groups A, B and F, waiting for rivals waiting for the rest of the groups to finish.

For its part, the resolution of group B, with the victory of Spain against Albania (1-0) and the draw between Italy and Croatia, indirectly and mathematically qualified France, the Netherlands and England for the round of 16. They now have at least one of the places as the best third place, having added four points after the first two games.
